Information from General Meetings
Thank you to all those that attended the last Chapter Meeting. We were very glad to hear updates from all active committees including Labor/Management and Morale, Welfare and Recreation. Your MWR committee will be working toward a joint Picnic with the EMP Charities hopefully coming in May. The L/M committee was proud to announce the addition of a new call out policy, the development of a new PCR and much more.
The Local I-60 is also proud to announce the addition of Chris Medrea. As many of you know Chris is a retired MFD  Capt who has much experience in union activities. Chris is a former President of the L2260 as well as the PFFA. Chris will bring much knowledge and experience to the table to help the Executive board in dealings with other locals and political activities across the state. Welcome Chris and we look forward to working with you for a long time to come.
Jason Payne was also glad to update the group on our recent departure from the PFFA. Jason explained that we are planning to remain active supporters of other IAFF that may need our help and that this in no way affects our affiliation with the IAFF. Jason stated that we hope to maintain a friendly relationship with the allies we have from across the state but that it was time to take a stand against the people that refuse to support us in the many fights to save union jobs.
We look forward to seeing you all at the next meeting. Be Safe!

Information from Labor/Management meeting

The Last Labor/Management meeting was Thursday April 3rd at SWRC in Mesa. We found out some new information regarding the new attendance policy you have all heard about. For those of you that haven't heard the L/M committee passed a new policy in March that in addtion to other things, get rid of restricted status. Eventhough the committe has approved the new policy upper management had a few questions before approving the policy. After some discussion the committee decided to forward the issue to the next step, meaning Jason Payne and Jeff Sergeant will have to sit down and hammer out whatever issues each side has. We all hope to see the new policy soon. We will keep you updated with whatever changes occur. In addtion to this the committee also discussed further some of the many uniform issues. As many of you heard last month it was brought to the light that eventhough we now have the same uniform options the Tucson group seems to have a much different price list. It is our goal to standardize this list as soon as possible. Jeff Baker updated the group on the development of the new PCR. Jeff stated that the final draft had been created and we should see them out on the street soon.

The group was also introduced to the new HR director, Patricia Myers. Patricia will be taking the place of Jessica Core who left the company for a new job a couple months ago. We would like to welcome Patricia to SW and hope to be working with her for a loing time to come.

The next L/M meeting will be May 1st at 1pm at the Tucson Ops building.
