The Family of Laura Arevalo would like to extend a very warm “Thank you,” for all the help and support they have received so far for their loved one. Laura started her career at Southwest Ambulance over 18 months ago. She came from Oregon to precept as a paramedic and has remained at SWA since. She works on AP 505 in Casa Grande.

Laura is well-liked and loved in the community including Southwest Ambulance, Casa Grande hospital, and local Fire and Policedepartments. Laura is a very well known and loved Paramedic in Pinal County, Casa Grande. Her fiancée, Kain Moreno, and her family are asking for your help in many ways. They are asking for thoughts, prayers and any donations you can assist with.

Laura, Kain and some friends were having a final fling in Rocky Point before their marriage on October 11. Laura worked a 24 hour shift on July 13, 2008 when the headache began. On July 14, they headed south to relax on the beaches of Rocky Point. She experienced the same headache on the trip down, and attributed it to being over tired and dehydrated. When they arrived in Rocky Point, she mentioned that she felt a little better and felt better when lying down. With Kain checking on her hourly, she never got much better. At 0200a.m. on the morning of July 16, 2008 she woke up Kain by vomiting. From that point on Laura did not follow commands and had unequal pupils.

Kain immediately treated her with O2 and rushed her to the border to meet Air Evac 6 for a flight to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix, AZ. Within minutes of arriving at St. Joes a bleed was found and Laura underwent 7 hours of Neuro surgery, and she remains at St. Joes ICU today. She is still in critical condition, and not responsive to verbal stimuli, but has positive movements to pain.

Kain and the Family would appreciate any and all help that anyone can provide in this time of need for our Fellow Paramedic, Union member, Friend, Sister, Co-Worker and Incredible Daughter; LAURA AREVALO. At the request of Kain and Families, please contact fellow co-workers and friends for up-to-date information in order to allow families to be at Laura’s side. Prayers and positive thought can be emailed
to Kain at kainmoreno@msn.com. He does read words of encouragement to Laura at
night. More immediate information contact Rick or Barbie Rebenstorf at 480-390-1653 or 480-518-3311 or e-mail r-brebe918@hotmail.com.

Sincerely,
The Moreno and Arevalo Families
